Walter Mosely (novelist): What do you have to sacrifice to be a writer?

This was a very interesting video. I liked it because he explained how he enjoys writing and his personal opinion about it. 

Mosely understands that even though he likes writing and he likes his writing pieces, sometimes they can't fit in a perfect writing system because they are wild and different than what the publisher expects. Other writing pieces though, fit perfectly in the structure that the publisher would enjoy to publish. To him, it doesn't matter what others opinions are because he is using his own writing language to tell us a story and give us ideas through them. Mosely himself thought that he would never be successful, but he did become successful. The most important part of this was that he enjoyed his stories and never gave up on them.

My opinion: I agree with Mosely. I also believe that not mattering what others think about your writing, there is always an important idea in each writing piece. To some people, your writing may seem not good enough, but you think that it is good because you know the other story behind it. That's great. I encourage all writers to keep that language that you use for your writing pieces. Your writing piece is unique and that's what is important. You wrote your writing piece and did hard work; That is what is important. Don't give up!

Mosely also believed that he doesn't have to give up anything to write. That is because he believes that writing is like a place of dreams. He wakes up early every day and writes. He uses his time wisely because after he finishes writing early in the morning, he has the rest of his day for himself to live his life.

My opinion: Writing is something beautiful that you get to do many things through it. Even though writing is good, I believe that you might have to sacrifice a few things. All writers need to sacrifice their own time. By that I do not mean that you have to spend the entire day writing, but you need to spend some time writing. Writing is something enjoyable. Many people have different opinions on it and that is great. Everyone sacrifices different things in life. Some people need to sacrifice the fear of expressing themselves and letting others read it. Others need to sacrifice the feeling of  not being good enough. We are all different human beings with different personalities. All of us know what we need to sacrifice and if we don't feel the need because the writing piece and everything else is going well, that's good too.
